The firefighters and citizens of New harmony Valley wish to
thank all who participated and supported this year’s New Harmony
Fire Mud Run. Please visit us again next year June 23rd for the
Mud Run and remember to tell your friends where they can have
the Dirtiest Fun in Southern Utah!
The New
Harmony Fire Mud Run is a cross country running race run as a
five person team or individual. Throughout the mud run course
there will be military style obstacles to negotiate, including
barrier walls, culvert pipes, tires and of course Mud pits.
There will be three different course lengths available, a 10 km
and 5 km mud run course along with a 1 km under 13 youth mud
run. This was the first ever mud run conducted in southern Utah
and one of the highest elevation mud run’s in the nation.
Participants will be met with breathtaking vistas of the
adjacent Kolob Canyons of Zion National park as the course will
top out at just over 5,000 feet elevation on the volcanic rock
of the Black Ridge of New Harmony valley. The mud run course
will drop back down into the water course of Ash Creek and
proceed upstream finally finishing on the blacktop of old
highway 91. So get your team together or come out and solo this
challenging, fun mud run course, June 23, 2012.
